ENT Health was founded in 2012 by Drs. Christopher Chang and Richard Thrasher, both board-certified and actively practicing otolaryngology-head & neck surgeons.

Dr. Christopher Chang with Fauquier ENT Consultants is a Yale and Duke-trained Board-Certified Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgeon with fellowship training in laryngology and voice disorders (one of only a few laryngologists in the mid-Atlantic USA). He is a United States patent holder and has authored numerous textbook chapters and peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals, as well as actively involved in medical research in this specialty field. He has been named as one of America's Top Physicians by the Consumer's Research Council of America, Northern Virginia Top Doctor, Top Doctor by Castle Connolly, Washingtonian Top Doctor, and Top Doctor by US News & World Report. He joined Fauquier ENT Consultants in October 2005 and enjoys treating all aspects of the head and neck of all different ages from pediatrics to adults. He has a particularly keen interest in surgical treatment for obstructive sleep apnea as well as professional voice care from operatic singers to the lecturing professor whether the complaint be a weaker than normal voice to sudden pitch breaks or onset delays of only the upper singing vocal range. Complete care from diagnosis to voice therapy to surgical correction of vocal problems are provided. Additionally, he is the founder of the Virginia Voice & Speech Center as well as co-founder of the consulting firm, Gaia Social Media Group.

He also addresses problems related to allergy, ears, nose, sinus, throat, salivary gland, head & neck masses, skin cancer, and use of botox to treat facial/neck spasms/dystonias (spasmodic dysphonia, oral mandibular dystonias, torticollis, tongue dystonia, oro-facial dystonia, palate myoclonus, etc). He is one of only a few surgeons in the United States knowledgeable in the minimally invasive treatment of Zenker's Diverticulum.

Outside interests include running, hiking, cycling, SCUBA, kayaking, swing dancing (West Coast Swing), and snowboarding. He is also an amateur movie producer creating videos on a variety of ENT topics for patient education.

Dr. Chang is also an active blogger and regular contributing author for Better Health, LLC as well as KevinMD.

Dr. Richard Thrasher with Ear Nose & Throat Centers of Texas received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah and his medical degree from the University of Connecticut. He completed a general surgery internship in Denver before going on to an Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. While in residency, Dr. Thrasher trained at Denver Children’s Hospital (routinely rated in the top 5 children’s hospitals in the country) and has a particular interest in pediatric ENT.

Upon completing residency, Dr. Thrasher served on clinical faculty with the University of Nebraska Department of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery while he served as a Major in the USAF for 3 years at Offutt AFB in Nebraska. During this time he won three awards for best instructor as a clinical preceptor for family medicine residents and physician assistant students. He also served as medical director of the surgical service and chief of otolaryngology at his base hospital. He was the first otolaryngologist in Nebraska, and the first in the Air Force, to perform the new Balloon Sinuplasty surgery. He was also the first otolaryngologist in Nebraska to perform an innovative procedure on the base of the tongue for sleep apnea and remains one of only a handful of surgeons in the country performing and training other surgeons on the technique.

Since moving to north Texas, he has already been featured in numerous local magazines including D magazine, and NBC news has aired a story on Dr. Thrasher’s contributions in the advancement of sleep apnea surgery. After having lived in the area for less than 18 months, he was selected to become the vice-chair and then chair of the department of surgery at the Medical Center of McKinney. He has authored several publications and remains active in pursuing clinical research in sinusitis and sleep apnea. Dr. Thrasher’s special interests include pediatric ENT, snoring/obstructive sleep apnea, thyroid surgery, and sinus surgery. He is an avid golfer, admits to playing several sports poorly, and is a self-proclaimed technology geek. He lives with his wife and 2 children in McKinney.
